Vehicle purchase question:

i don’t even know how to phrase the question to google it:

i recently rented a u-haul box truck …very nice really. 18,000 miles, clean, handled well (for a box truck), etc.

but what REALLY grabbed me: no computer screen…manual radio, manual AC/heater, manual windows, no carpet (thick vinyl mat you could wash with a hose), thick vinyl seat covers, etc.

how would one purchase such a vehicle? i don’t want a used u-haul…i want to purchase a vehicle with the u-haul “package”.

OK, I need everyone to STOP and do THIS:

we are doing a VERY thorough housecleaning and have (based on population etc) discovered that if we ALL clean our houses and donate unused items NO MORE TOTE BAGS will need to be manufactured for DECADES! DECADES i tell ya!

and pencils…between us we have enough pencils to last to the end of the century!

but pens…that’s another story. All national resources going to tote bags and pencils MUST be diverted to manufacturing working pens! Immediately!

Fun Idea (thanks to inspiration from keithbvadu2)

Every time you empty one of those VISA gift cards/GreenDot cards/whatever...

mail it to the trump campaign with a note that says "Hope you can use this!"

if enough did this, they'd have a crew 24 hours a day at the ATM standing there going:
...type type type..."dammit"
...type type type..."dammit
...type type type..."dammit

Question for the Automobile Enthusiasts group:

I have an old (2003) Ford E350 van. The Idle Validation Switch is going bad. This is an integral part of the gas pedal assembly, not able to purchase separately, nor can you purchase the assembly.

I need to bypass this switch. The wires going to the switch are about the size of a pencil lead, maybe smaller...its been a long time since I stripped a pencil to look at the diameter of the lead.

I do not want to cut the connector off to splice in, so I was looking at things like this (I would call them T-splices):
https://www.amazon.com/Posi-Tap-20-22-Youll-Choose-Amount/dp/B0B3815XSG/ref=sr_1_2_sspa

My question is how do I know what size to purchase? Here is the explanation google gives for measuring the gauge of a wire (and I don't want to do that):

First, make a small cut about 1/2" long and remove the insulation on the automotive wire. Then, count the individual strands of copper and use a micrometer to measure one of the strands. From there, refer to the table below to determine the wire's gauge.

I don't want to cut the wire to find the gauge.

Thanks for any hints.

Does anyone watch "Soft White Underbelly" interviews?

some of the most heartbreaking, wrenching interviews ever made. Junkies, prostitutes, gangbangers, street people…done with respect and gentleness, but absolutely no sugarcoating. Just enough questions to keep the “flow” going, but mostly letting the people tell their stories.

I believe many of our problems can be if not solved at least alleviated by understanding and listening. I have no answers, but this series makes me feel more compassion and acceptance of people that most would NEVER have a conversation with.

The following is a short interview he did with an inmate. I hope some here get value from this and many others he has done:
