So, I'm living in an apartment complex in Oregon...
where I've been for over two years. I see a tow truck, and I know they are getting ready to tow a car that I've seen in my parking lot.

What do I do? I go out and confront the driver in the tow truck, who I watched out my front window. He was circling like a vulture. I'm in my pajamas. He keeps giving me different stories... none of which are believable.

At this time, my son shows up by my side. He's autistic and 10 years old. I tell him... remember these numbers on the side of the truck. The tow truck lingers...

And, then I start dashing around my apartment complex looking for the owner. I see some people moving furniture and ask if they know who owns the car. They give the apartment number, but won't help me.... translate.

Fortunately, the people in the apartment answered when I knocked on the door, I frantically tell them... MOVE THE CAR! The car was moved before it was towed. But the tow truck driver was still hiding around the corner, lying in wait.

When I finally sat down to type this, it hit me... I have neighbors and we need to depend on each other. :hi:

6. Here on the block at my house the City
"Sweeps" the other side of my street the first Tuesday and then my side the first Wednesday of each month during the summer. Really for the $40 ticket to each car that does not move, I digress. So a kid from up the block runs door to door to warn every resident... so far only about three tickets were issued all of last summer. NONE so far this summer.

Yes Neighbors should look out for one another.

About 6 years ago a Burglary was thwarted when another neighbor noticed a moving van at a house... the home owner of said house had not mentioned moving. the cops came and busted the 6 guys that had been emptying houses all over town.

I LOVE living here.

7. You are a good neighbor
We should all look after our neighbors more.. it's what compassionate progressives do. Not like Repukes who only care about themselves.

8. Here in the Bay Area during the Loma Prieta earthquake
One of our neighbors went house to house turning off the main gas lines. And my husband turned his car radio on to let everyone know what was happening. It's good to know your neighbors, even if you don't like some of them. You usually find that all the others don't like them either, but put up with them.
