Constitutional Scholars: What are the best horn books, references and legal texts on this topic?
Edited on Tue Dec-14-10 05:33 PM by Mike 03
One of my ambitions for 2011 is to immerse myself in Constitutional law (including the most contemporary decisions).

If you were a law student or practicing attorney specializing in Constitutional law, which books would you recommend to individuals similarly interested?

Thanks in advance for the recs.

1. I find the Oxford Companion to SCOTUS to be valuable
although I am nowhere near a law scholar.

2. Well THIS is something every US Citizen should own...
http://www.amazon.com/Constitution-United-States-America/dp/1452898472/ref=sr_1_9?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1292367412&sr=1-9

$6.95 and free shipping if you include it in an order of $25 or more. You might be able to find it at a local book store, but keep in mind that this one is the 2010 edition with the Articles of Confederation included. I have a few of the earlier editions, most recent being 2007, that are just the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution (with all Amendments). This one is the same but with the additional section.

4. Damn right. Excellent suggestion. I own an edition of it, but not this one, but I will be adding
this to my holiday list.

Thank you.
