So if there's no more Catfood Commission why are Senators discussing it on my TeeVee right now?

Mark Udall is talking about how the recommendations are a "way of going forward". And the need to reform the tax code.

According to DU lore, the Deficit Commission was a ruse. It was a kind of Potemkin Village concocted to fool Alan Simpson and the Republicans. A double secret 11th Dimensional Chess feint that many on DU saw right through but that totally faked out the Republicans. It didn't get the magical 14 votes therefore the ideas put forth by it have magically disappeared. Poof! Ignore the strong odor of cat food.
