Until we have a productive congress that can work together and produce logical change...
...we will NEVER solve our nation's energy challenges, Mr. President.

Everything you are saying is moot until we have a mature, productive congress that is willing to solve problems.

We don't have that now and I can't see it happening anytime in my lifetime.

9. I saw that too. They covered his initial remarks and then cut away at
almost the exact same time.

I even went to Fox, he was on for a few more seconds, then they too cut away.

3. Take Your Point Just A Little Further ......

we'll never solve our financial problems or any major problems we face for that matter.

All are solvable - but until we could get past partisan politics and bickering - they will all remain unsolved or with half-assed solutions that further complicate or compound the issues. No one wants to incur the wrath of the big money donors.

4. Fifty years from now
Jimmy Carter's ideas about energy policy will be regarded as that of a visionary genius. Think of how much happier the entire world would be if ALTERNATIVE ENERGIES had been developed with enthusiasm for the last 30 years! Less wars, less global climate change, less fear of the future, less health problems.

Elections have consequences.

help. But in the long run the only ones who will truly make things happen is us. I read "Blessed Unrest" by Hawkins and it would seem that is already happening in many forms locally.

6. recent Dictator removals
Events in Egypt and all the other places demonstrate quite effectively the power that WE THE PEOPLE have if we act collectively. We BOTTOM 98%'ers are really getting hosed by the Top 2%.

We've been divided and conquered, systematically, over the last 30 years. But we can still turn this thing around if we wise up and look after each other. I engage people on "current events" anywhere anytime any place for any reason at all. What is surprising is HOW MANY PEOPLE have a decent awareness of just how much corporations have been getting medieval on our asses for the last thirty years!

7. I think the foreclosures and the banking mess went a long way toward
waking people up to the idea that corporations are not our friend. Now if we can just convince the media. Actually we have some really good media - LINK, Current TV, evenings on MSNBC, The Daily Show, Colbert, and other like that. The problem is they are preaching to the choir.
