VACAVILLE, Calif. -- Police evacuated a Vacaville neighborhood Sunday morning after a bomb exploded at a local residence, hospitalizing one resident and leading to the discovery of more explosive devices on the driveways and frontyards of several homes.
Residents in the Cashel Cir. and Edenderry north Brown Valley area of Vacaville were evacuated after an explosion earlier that morning. The victim was airlifted to a nearby hospital.
KTVU has received reports that the bomb that went off was possibly disguised so that the victim would detonate it.
After the discovery of more explosive devices -- pipe bombs, according to the Vacaville Fire Department -- police posted warnings telling residents to not approach any package or item that was delivered that morning, including newspapers. Police posted the warning within a 1/2-mile radius of the evacuated neighborhood.
