help from a federal worker needed
I work for a Federal agency and we have an employee that did a disgusting act and was caught in a public work place doing it. It has been brushed under the carpet and now we are being told that he could file a lawsuit against us for talking about it and we should shut up. They keep telling us it is under review as to what to do to this person. We think they are waiting for the 45 day period to come a go and then we can't. They tell you you will be protected by whistle blowing but you aren't. Bid schedules will be a bitch, getting leave will be a nightmare and on and on. You complain to a higher up and it comes back to your location and is handled by the same person that swept in under the carpet. I have no faith in this country anymore. You can get away with anything. The women that walked in on this is scared to death and no one advised her. We are trying to get her to stand up but the last women walked away with two years admin leave to go away. Help, we are so disgusted.

1. EEO Office?
I sounds to me as though you might have someone go to your Agency's EEO office to report this.

It sounds as though there is a hostile workplace where you work.

Your EEO office should be able to help and protect you.

I'm sorry you have to go through this.

4. Hostile is correct
I just have no faith in our system. They make deals in the Fed workplace that would freak out the average joe.

9. Go To The Press
Maybe you could go to the press with your story.

Often times the press is willing to cover stories about how managers in Federal agencies cover up things.

Also, do you have a Union where you work? Could they get involved in this?

14. union
yes, they have been told, they said the female needs to be the one to pursue it. We are giving her advice but she is working a deal to have herself transferred so she will take care of herself. The last female got two years pay to walk away quietly. We just get stuck with the perve. I think I am going to bite the bullet and report this without giving my name. We eat in this room and that really grossed us out. I think there is a district office over our hub and will send them a letter.

What did the person do? Sorry, but there's not enough information.

3. everyone is afraid
This guy has something over our boss. I was going to write a letter but it just gets sent back to the guy that decided not to put him on admin leave that day and asked the people above him not to fire him, said he was a good employee. He crapped in a box. Yea,very sick, there was a bathroom nearby.

6. Well, that's pretty weird, but I'm not sure why everyone is afraid.
Afraid of what? While it's a little disturbing, I'm not sure it warrants all this.

19. I think crapping in a box, in the workplace kitchen, is very fucking disturbing.
This guy didn't start out with crapping in a box, there have almost certainly been other instance of disturbing behavior before this. Perhaps a man such as yourself would not be fearful, but personally, I would give this guy a WIDE berth, and do whatever it took to avoid crossing him.

22. You know, when I wrote that, the details weren't available.
The OP seem to be dribbling them out slowly. Without enough information, it's pretty hard to assess the situation.

23. Well, I have to quibble about that.
The OP wrote about the box-crapping at 10:35, you responded to that very post at 10:41. Not sure why you're asserting that the details weren't available when you responded to them specifically.

24. Nothing was written about the lunch room. Look, the original
post just said this person did something disgusting, but didn't say what. Then the poster revealed one more detail, after I asked. The lunch room thing didn't come out till much later.

26. Does is really matter where the box-crapping took place? Really?
Your initial attempt to minimize the OP's concern about a box-crapper in their workplace was very patronizing. Now you're trying to back track by claiming you didn't know all the details. In the post that YOU responded to, the OP stated that the person crapped in a box while at work. So really, Mineral Man, what more would you need to know in order to determine that the OP's concern was legitimate enough to meet your standards?

5. Yikes.
When I lived in Florida, I worked at a company and a guy did something similar, except it was worse. He put crap in the coffee pot and on the copy machine. Thank God he was on the night shift and it happened before I came in and got coffee. I stopped drinking coffee at work there.

7. afraid of reporting it
Yea, we cleaned everything, we now believe he has been using this room for his toilet. He has a history of violence and revenge, not a happy person and we all are thinking about eating in our cars. Well, it is a lewd act here in my state.

Contact them... and not from your work computer.

That is what is so freaking bad, you can be traced. I am going to mail some letters. Only thing we can do. This is a good old boys club and it is 2011 but you would never know it.
Thank you all for giving me the courage to stand up to this man and my managers.

the supervisor can testify to the validity of the claim. Since they had it in their position at one point.
