We see it often, these days.

Are we not onto that now? The face? The PR? The titular head that provides a personality and a facade for the corporation, government or regime. Someone to react to, even if it doesn't make any difference. A lightening rod. A storm gutter. Seemingly important, yet replaceable and, as far as the organization behind it goes, dispensable.

Just like other titular positions, these days, from Presidents to despots. Just a small part of the game held out as most valuable and important so that we can waste our time, devotion and energy on what they want us to waste. The game continues as planned, though.
