Revealed: Miss. Gov. Barbour spent over $300K on out-of-state travel in 2010
Source:Raw Story

Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour (R) reportedly used taxpayer money to hobnob with wealthy potential donors and campaign for Republican candidates in 2010.

Records obtained by the Clarion-Ledger indicated that Barbour spent over $300,000 to pay for out of state trips in 2010 alone.

The governor had called for deep budget cuts to education and mental health in 2010, even as his travel spending topped 2009.

In one trip, two of Barbour's body guards were reimbursed $858 a night for hotel rooms in New York. That trip, which included a round-trip ride on the state's Cessna Citation jet, cost taxpayers nearly $15,000.

2. Many people would travel out of his state if someone else paid for it.

No brainer.

6. How much did that initial 300k result in returns for the esteemed Boss Hogg?
Spend 300k of the taxpayers money to earn how much more?

Apparently this kind of overt corruption must be legal in Mississippi America.

I have no expectation of any kind of legal ramifications against Governor Hogg for this.

7. I was really hoping that Barbour was going to take a dip into that brownish crude oil mousse
in the GOM last summer, to prove its harmlessness, after he announced that the oil had been sufficiently dispersed and aged and that it no longer posed any harm to the ecosystem, environment, or his constituency.
