Accept the crumbs, or else!

Well, I posted a platform that I believe Dems could use to sweep the 2012 elections ( http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=439x669885 )

However many of the members of DU seem to think I'm a niave dreamer, that there is no chance a bunch of those disaffected folks who never vote might show up in support of these policies.

Well, I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees. Why should we accept what the leaders of the Democratic Party have been handing us? The rationale is often "the Republicans would be worse". No disagreement; they would be worse. But I'm not willing to let them kill me with 1,000 cuts.

I for one say "Stand up and Fight Back".

You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one.

I say the nay-sayers are quitters, or worse.

What I meant, though, was that "Accept the crumbs or else" isn't much of a party platform -- although it seems to be what they're going with.
