The media seems to be doing a great job...
ignoring what is going on in Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, etc. Yes, I understand that the situation in Japan is dire but so is this.

I'm sure the Republicans and their Koch sponsors are thrilled!

1. It's playing great where it's going to make the biggest
impact.

The local media is all over this, who does it affect - Joe Worker/Voter. I'm in NC all I can offer is Solidarity. The area news WI,MI,OH, & IL - they're getting it. It's still all good. :bounce:

6. Thank you!
I'm just getting frustrated by the complete and utter lack of ANY mention of what has happened today on Cenk, Chris and Lawrence tonight. :(

2. It's revealing the true nature of the "main street media" as nothing

but stenographers of their corporate overlords.

10 paid freedomworks teabaggers on a corner was breathless breaking news - but the baggers were doing the bidding of their corporate masters, so it makes sense.

A true grass roots labor uprising terrifies them, thus the blackout. It's sickening, but word's getting out in spite of them and we're not giving up.

10. I remember the good ole days when the big story would be first, then they would move on.
I was away from a computer all weekend and went crazy because I could not find out what was going on in WI and Michigan.

11.  "Nothing But the Truth" 2008
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nothing_But_the_Truth_%282008_film%29

"According to comments made by Lurie in The Truth Hurts, a bonus feature on the DVD release, his inspiration for the screenplay was the case of journalist Judith Miller, who in July 2005 was jailed for contempt of court for refusing to testify before a federal grand jury investigating a leak naming Valerie Plame as a covert CIA operative, but this was merely a starting point for what is primarily a fictional story."

Alan Alda the reporters high priced lawyer paid for by her employer argued before the Supreme Court that holding National Security above reporting illegal acts by the Administration should not be legal, it had been ruled as such in 1983 5-4 with an excellent dissenting opinion that it should be revisited because it could make the press unable to do their Constitutional Jobs and allow dictators to arise in America.

Reporters could not afford to do investigative journalism into our government without ending up in prison. And of course also a huge factor a multi-million dollar corporations controlling our media.

This is a flip side to this story as it was apparent that the leak came to Judith Miller by way of the administration, not by a reporters won scoop shown in this movie. The film was never released to theaters but won awards at film festivals.

I think it was a good film to open a discussion about all that surrounded the Plame case and our current dismal Fourth Estate's influence in America.

12. Japan didn't change the coverage at all.
Before Japan they were breathlessly reporting whatever idiotic shit Charlie Sheen was up to. It wouldn't matter if nothing else happened on the entire planet for a solid week, they'd find something -anything- else to cover.

13. There is also a rumor that we are at war.
But that is only on the internet tubes. Nothing about it from the corporate propaganda machine so maybe it's not true.

14. No worries. They stopped covering Japan today.
At least in regards to updates on reactor status.
