Can non union members donate to union political funds?

Can non union members donate to union political funds?
I've been self employed for pretty much my entire working life. I did work for the state for a year, before AFSCME came in to Florida. But since I will no longer donate to the Democratic Party, if I have money to donate to a political cause, I would like to donate to a union, if it is legal.

Then the next time the DNC calls me, I can tell them who I donated to and WHY.
