Newt explains his marital infidelity: He was "driven by how passionately I felt about this country"

Gingrich blames passion for 'this country' for his affairs

By David

Newt Gingrich (R-GA) loves the country so much that it has caused him to stray from his marriages.

At least, that what the former House speaker seemed to be saying in a recent interview with CBN's David Brody.

"There's no question at times of my life, partially driven by how passionately I felt about this country, that I worked far too hard and things happened in my life that were not appropriate," Gingrich said.

"What I can tell you is that when I did things that were wrong, I wasn't trapped in situation ethics, I was doing things that were wrong, and yet, I was doing them," he said.

Oh yes,
'the old flag and patriotism made me do it.'

I wrapped her in a flag and fucked her brains out.

5. So, if elected President, he won't work too hard in order to not cheat on his current wife?

7. So he's saying that being a Republican politician can endanger your marriage?
OK, Newt, obviously you should give up politics now, for the sake of your morality. And try to persuade all those other Republican politicians that they should too, since you've finally found something that really does threaten heterosexual marriage - being a Republican.

10. It's always funny hearing people trying to explain the hanky-panky
It's not that hard to be honest here. Just say: 'I did it because I wanted to bang her. It was wrong, I know, but I just couldn't help it. I'm not made of stone.' Sadly though, there's a whole style of kabuki theater that goes along with having a public persona. That often means lying or misleading the public, even though everybody takes it for granted that you are being untruthful.
