doesn't begin to fill up the vast silence created by the inaction of the national Dems as a whole. I showed up at the polls last fall but understand why others didn't, and sneering at those people now won't get them to the polls in the future. The current inexplicable lassitude of the Democratic party when confronted with what should be a slam-dunk red meat issue is going to annihilate us next year. It's not just inaction on the part of the voters that can have consequences. Given a choice between a candidate who's doing his damnedest to keep you down and one who won't break a sweat to help you up, there's not much to get excited about.
