1. He played the race card against NPR?
Classic.

To those of us who are dedicated NPR listeners (and actually like it), Juan Williams was the biggest frustration ever, and he made it a point to weigh in on every racial issue. His favorite trick was to take the extreme opposite end than one would expect of any racial issue. When the Jena High School incident exploded (white kids hanging a noose from the tree where Black kids hung out, and the ensuing fight), Williams proclaimed that the African-American reaction was ridiculous because it "simply doesn't rise to the level of the racial events of the 1950s and 1960s." Williams hates Al Sharpton, unless that's his perception of what he's expected to say, and then he loves Sharpton.

Williams is of the mind that a) only he truly understands racial issues, b) white people will never get it, and c) Black people need to move on and let him take care of this race business.

For him to suddenly get all snippy about race (particularly in light of his very wrong headed remarks about Muslims) is laughable.

3. Williams first commented on this issue to Sean Hannity. It was quite a contrast.
By the time he talked to O'Reilly, he had figured out how to keep from coming unglued, but when he talked to Hannity, he was unhinged. Completely nuts.

I find it fascinating to hear Fox go on and on about this. The irony is delicious.
