WI Rethugs strip workers of rights - then fly to D.C. for huge fundraiser
http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/news/117699163.html

State Republicans are planning to hold a big fundraiser at the offices of a major lobbying fim in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday.

Supporters are asked to give at least $1,000 to the state Republican Party's federal account to attend the event at the BGR Group's offices in D.C. The cost is $2,500 to sponsor and $5,000 to host the fundraiser.

Those featured at the event will be: Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald of Juneau; Assembly Speaker Jeff Fitzgerald of Horicon; Rep. Scott Suder of Abbotsford; Sen. Glenn Grothman of West Bend; and Joint Finance Committee co-chairmen, Sen. Alberta Darling of River Hills and Rep. Robin Vos of Burlington.

All five Republican congressmen and U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson are listed as invited guests.

3. That was the rush to get it passed
They wanted to go party and tell their contributors (Koch Bros) how they landed a victory, legal or not.

10. So Fitzgerald was half right. Looks like D.C. was behind the events in Wisconsin.
Just not on the protesting side.

12. They're not going to be in Madison, doing their jobs?
I remember that that notion really upset a lot of people when it was the Democrats denying the Senate a quorum to strip citizens of their rights. Now the Republicans are abandoning the state, failing to do their jobs, all to pocket some campaign "contributions" from wealthy fatcats in Washington DC. Will that get any play in Wisconsin or in the national news? Will that Illinois Tea Bagger who confronted the Democratic Senators be similarly exercised by this unseemly display by Republicans?

Ooh listen: Crickets!

15. Gee, I don't get a month-long break from MY job
We've also heard for months about all the lavish benefits there are to being a union member (benefits negotiated through collective bargaining so that management can't simply say "take it or leave it" to each individual worker). "I don't get" this or that, wail the stooges! Those greedy bastard teachers! Will we be treated to the same caterwauling over this month long break the Wisconsin Senate has granted itself? And they're going to try to keep the $100 per diem penalty in place? Just when you thought they'd reached rock bottom, out come the jackhammers.

As soon as the gavel comes down on the Senate's recess, the Democratic Senators should materialize that the Capitol doors, ready to do business.

14. BGR Group was formerly Barbour Griffith Rogers
Founded by Haley Barbour, currently governor of Mississippi and head of the Republican Governors Association during last year's elections, when they were getting all those interesting donations.

And yes, this is not a coincidence.
