Any salaried people here with union workers at their place of work?
Have you asked yourself what you will do if the union strikes? No unions where I work, so I won't have the opportunity/danger of that coming up. But if you are in the position, what will you do? What happened to salaried folks in days gone by when the refused to cross picket lines? Did this ever happen?

1. I've never crossed a picket line
and I never will.

I'll beg from a bankster first.

2. In the old days sometimes the salaried people took over the work of those on strike
to try to keep the company going. Then the scabs also came in and helped. Salaried workers crossed the picket lines along with the scabs. I was young then, but I recall seeing it on the TV. I spent my career in management, but often I had wished we had a union, It's very easy to get steamed-rolled in management by executive management, I never had that problem, but I've seen some go through hell.

4. I'm a salaried union worker.
Management would be stuck with all of the work, since they are non union. Last time we went on strike, management from our state natural resource agencies had to work at the state mental hospital.

I won't cross a picket line.

5. Before I resigned, I was in that position at a newspaper.
I would never, ever cross a picket line. Ever. I had discussed it with Mr. Brickbat and we were prepared for me to get fired if it came to that.

6. During nurses strike
the salaried non-union nurses fill in. They were supervisors, educators, management types, but all with nursing degrees, just not at the bedside for years. They all had to show up, or get fired. We understood their position, they understood ours. As I understand, only union people are obligated not to cross our picket line. For example, Teamster truck drivers would NOT make deliveries, but non-union drivers could. (I found out the hard way, nearly getting run over on the line). There is a traditional strike protocol, spoken and unspoken.
