It is time to give the fascists a stark choice: back down, or kill us.
Edited on Wed Mar-09-11 10:46 PM by backscatter712
It's clear that basic rules of civility are out the window. The Republicans will not negotiate with anything resembling reciprocity. Any time they come to the table at all, it's in bad faith.

That leaves us one choice - hit them in a way that forces them to respond. As I said in an earlier post, we must fuck with their money.

Which is why we absolutely must be talking about a general strike. The only question is whether the American people have the will to go through with a strike. If we do, we can win this war. If we don't our future is economic slavery. It's time to choose.

Then, we go out there, and we shut down everything. Like the French. Block the roads, block the stores, close the schools so people have to watch their kids. Shut down the buses, the trucks, the trains, the subways, the airports, EVERYTHING. Occupy major facilities like stores and factories.

And give the oligarchs a choice. Back down from fascism, meet our demands, or send in your thugs and shoot.

It's time we contemplate these things. If we don't, we will be slaves. That's the stark truth. Only through courage and solidarity can we retake our way of life that our ancestors fought and died for.

2. The lack of responses to your post speaks volumes
Just another daily outrage that will be forgotten.

There is no fire in the belly. The Democratic establishment may as well wave the white flag because they sure aren't helping the base.

Isn't there a call for a stay home from work day on mar 31?

can we really pull it off? that's the problem...how many of us *want* this, and how many of us are just fine when it doesn't require actual action or danger...

6. Good question. I don't have that answer.

Either we have the balls to do what it takes to fight this class war, or we don't.

If we don't, welcome to the third world. Another decade, and we'll be a third world country, filled with people living in shantytown shacks, working for $20/day, and getting beatdowns by thugs for looking at the bosses funny. Mexican and Chinese companies will be looking at outsourcing to the U.S., because our desperate impoverished peasants will work for cheaper than their desperate impoverished peasants.

If we do, it's because we're so angry, got our backs to the wall, are sick and fucking tired of being screwed, and are willing to face down riot cops, Blackwater thugs and national guard troops, violently if necessary, in order to take our economic freedom back. They Egyptians got to that point. I only hope America has a tenth of the guts that Egypt and Libya have when facing down their tyrants.

5. If fascism is not taken on and defeated it will kill most of us and
enslave the rest. I just want to know what the rest of the nation will do.
Will American Idol slowly hypnotize most of the servile idiot population while their human rights, lives and money disappear?

7. Walker anticipates that... WI State employees take heed!
http://legis.wisconsin.gov/lfb/2011-13%20Budget/2011_03_09%20Modification%20to%20SS%20SB%2011_AB%2011.pdf

read page 16, item 3... Do not give Walker the ammunition that he wants... Do you really think they unlocked the capital just to save a few windows? Walker's next move will be to declare a 'state of emergency' due to the protests and occupation, then take his retribution out on participating state employees.

8. The next step needs to be sustained economic disruption.
Short of that, nothing will work.

Yes, we need to be talking general strike. Nationwide if possible. Work stoppages, blockades of roads, stores and factories. Shutdowns of buses, trains, airports, subways, etc. CRIPPLE THE ECONOMY UNTIL OUR DEMANDS ARE MET. Either we've got the gonads to do it or we don't. If we don't, we'll continue to get screwed.

9. i fully agree, it is a time for action
we've waited long enough for the system to do anything remotely helpful, and all its done is drag us deeper into debt and feed more and more of our country into the corporate machine.

we need as many, if not all the free thinking Americans to stand up, and refuse to take any more of this trivial death spiraling system bent on our subjugation and slavery.

Bring the entire country to a halt if we must, and let those in their ivory towers gaze down upon a sea of angry faces...

11. k and r-- whatever they have been putting in the water is making far too many complacent, if not
complicit. they do have to keep some of us around to do the scut work, but it seems like they wouldn't mind the rest of us being gone.

12. Still too much trust in government -- despite its corruption and crimes ...
but people have to realize that the further we go with this downward spiral

the more difficult it is to reconstruct society --

We also have Global Warming changing the landscape -- drastically -- and think

that's only going to begin to increase --

Many reasons to get going -- but are Americans ready?

Do they really understand this is government by fascistic means --

from right wing political violence -- to deception, corruption and crime?
