2. Yes, one of the dems on Ed's show was cautionary.
She said that she knows Walker wants to privatize.

A strike will give him an excuse to fire everyone, and privatize.

Be careful!!!

By striking, Walker may be getting what he wants.

4. Oh yeah? Well, let's see. How's about the prison guards go out
and unlock all the cell doors prior to going out? What's that douchebag Walker going to do then?

16. You don't think that would turn victory into immediate defeat?
The people of WI are almost certainly on our side right now.

Prison guards letting inmates escape would probably change that pretty quickly.

striking workers so that he can privatize the functions. If he can fire workers for striking, those same workers can sabotage the machinery of the state. At that point, public opinion will mean very little, as it will be an all-out class war (if it isn't already).

18. Sorry... no.
Reagan fired air traffic controllers and much of the public turned against him (though not enough).

Had the ATCs decided to crash a few planes... there wouldn't have been ANYone left supporting them.

They can walk off the job and force the gov to use the national guard to run the prisons. They can't release the inmates.

19. You are woefully ill informed about the PATCO strike and public

opinion. Much of the public did not turn against Reagan. Puh-leaze.

In fact, what was needed during the PATCO episode was a general strike (in direct violation of Taft-Hartley). The country needed to be shut down. To its everlasting shame, the AFL-CIO and affiliates did not even consider doing so.

5. A general strike shouldn't mean just sitting on your ass at home.
It means manning the line, blocking scabs, blocking roads, and occupying the tools of labor -- fire trucks, police cars, and so on.

It's not fun. It's worse than work and people get hurt. It tears families and communities apart. But it may be what we need.

9. Fuck the scabs.
Seriously. If we're avoiding striking because there "might be scabs," then we're not ready to strike.

10. Block the scabs.
If we can't work, the scabs should be blocked from working too.

14. What about Free Speech?
Didn't the Supreme Court just rule that people can protest and say anything they want at anytime?

These Repugs are treading on dangerous ground.
