Julianne Moore cast as Sarah Palin In HBO movie 'Game Change'
Edited on Wed Mar-09-11 05:46 PM by RamboLiberal
Julianne Moore is getting fit for claws -- she's about to play Sarah Palin, the Mama Grizzly herself.

HBO Films announced on Wednesday that the actress will take on the role of Sarah Palin in its film adaptation of the 2008 election tell all book, "Game Change," written by Mark Halperin and John Heilemann. Moore is the first member of the cast, which will feature screen versions of the top players in the election, such as Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and John McCain.

The book spilled deep, sometimes damaging secrets and quotes from the high-tension campaign trail, including Obama and then-running mate Joe Biden's distant relationship, the Clintons' original distaste for Obama and the fallout from McCain's choice of Palin as his Vice Presidential running mate.

In one such story, McCain adviser Steve Schmidt was quoted telling Palin's foreign policy advisers that, after testing the candidate before a debate, "You guys have a lot of work to do. She doesn't know anything."

3. Julianne is so decent and dignified. She'll have to use all her acting talent to get to
Palin's essence. What a challenge for an artist of Moore's quality! I'm glad she's doing it, though.

Art always saves you! And she'll be wonderful and insightful!

I saw her Broadway premiere with Bill Nighy in David Hare's "The Veritcal Hour", a play addressing the opposing views on the 2003 invasion of Iraq. I'm looking forward to this new film, you betcha!

Here's a little background on her from Wikipedia:
Moore was born Julie Anne Smith at Fort Bragg, near Fayetteville, North Carolina. Her mother, the late Anne McNeil McLean (née Love), was a psychiatric social worker who emigrated from Greenock, Scotland, and her father, Peter Moore Smith, a New Jersey native, was a military lawyer, judge, helicopter pilot, and army colonel. She has a younger sister, Valerie, and a younger brother, novelist Peter Moore Smith III.

Growing up as an "army brat", she lived in several places across the United States and Germany. Moore attended J.E.B. Stuart High School in Falls Church, Virginia and Frankfurt American High School in Frankfurt, Germany, graduating in 1979. She received her bachelor's degree at the College of Fine Arts at Boston University.<7>

5. Some method acting advice for Julianne Moore
1) Let your ego go batshit crazy and make everything about you
2) Make your voice as annoying, grating, and raspy as possible
3) Dumb your tweets down to the lowest possible level
4) Go sport killing and helicopter endangered-species hunting
5) Quit halfway through filming

Do these things, and you will capture the true essence of Caribou Barbie.

8. way too lovely
to play Palin.

If she wasn't a smoker, Moore would be my dream woman. Smart, gorgeous, talented, and a red head. :)
