Thousands of police, firefighters rally at State House; Christie calls them greedy

BY JOHN P. MCALPIN AND JOHN REITMEYER

Governor Christie called New Jersey police and firefighters greedy and said their mass protest in Trenton on Thursday would play “absolutely zero” role in the ongoing debate over public worker benefits.

The governor, speaking during a news conference inside the State House as thousands of unionized police and firefighters rallied outside, said the unions are refusing to compromise on contracts that pay expensive benefits taxpayers can no longer afford.

“They’re choosing their own greed over the betterment of the public,” he said.

Another group of public workers, including teachers, rallied in Trenton last week, but Christie said the demonstrations won’t affect his decisions on benefits reform.

1. Yea, and he is a glutton.
This man knows nothing about the betterment of the public or he would have never run for Governor.

3. Who does not have a member of their family or a close friend
who is not a teacher or member of a public union? He's insulting a great number of New Jersey citizens with his comments. Maybe he will be the next to be recalled.

4. I got a few choice words for Christie
of the type uttered by Susie Greene to Jeff Greene in which she colorfully excoriates him and his adipose condition.

I think that's in a language he can understand.

5. I'm just waiting for some of the DU police bashers to add their
opinions of the police joining in on the protest.

Should be interesting.

11. Prehistoric fathead.
And the Repuke powers keep trying to groom him for the presidency. He's "warm and fuzzy" in a recent poll! (maybe his asscrack is.)

The only thing that SLOB could win is a rib eating contest with Fred Flintstone.

( he fits real meaning of 'slob", union hating pukes, take note.)

12. How fucking dare he!
Police and firefighters put their LIVES on the line each and every day. Do you really want to have a race to the bottom when it comes to public safety?
