Senators accosted after Ohio Senate Bill 5 vote
The heated debate over Ohio Senate Bill 5 prompted a violent episode at a Columbus restaurant Wednesday night. Republican senators dining in German Village were accosted by a group of union supporters. As the collective bargaining bill prepares for a vote in the Ohio House of Representatives, protests are expected to continue with law enforcement officers on alert for violent attacks. Thousands of both protesters and supporters are planning to converge upon the statehouse.

Republican Senate President Tom Niehaus and several fellow GOP law makers were seated at a table inside the Easy Street Cafe when 10 angry union members forced their way toward the senator's table. Deputy Director of the SEIU District 1199 Monica Moran, burst into the restaurant with approximately 10 fellow union members. Moran waived her hands in the air and yelled to get the crowd's attention. After Moran used off-color language, she led the group in loud chanting.

Restaurant owner George Stefanidis and his staff attempted to block the group as they pushed their way further into the restaurant.

"I told them they had to leave and they wouldn't. They stormed through my dining room," Stefandis told the Columbus Dispatch. "It just ruined the whole night. I understand their argument, but they should do that some other place."

Senator Frank LaRose stated he did not have to use the special intelligence training he learned as a Green Beret to realize the event was planed.

If this is true, I hate to see it come to violence but you know it will as so many have so much at stake here.

2. It's kind of tough to hold your anger back when you see the
politicians who are trying to destroy your livelihood.

I bet the GOP Ohio Senators will be getting a lot of that.

6. "A violent episode"?
I guess by that standard, Joe Wilson of South Carolina should be arrested and charged with something.

By the way, Mr. Stefanidis, if you serve dinner to mutts, you're liable to pick up a few fleas yourself. If you understand the argument, be a little choosier about whose money you take. Blood-stained bills tend to muck up your cash register.

Privatization , that is what this is all about....the next 5 to 10 years we will have no public schools and if you can not pay for your kids to go than too bad. Also not so far down the road our Fire and Police Dept's. will be non-public.....see were they are going with this.....

13. According to the article...
...Law enforcement officers quickly arrived as a police helicopter hovered overhead...". If that was in fact the case I would have to ask if during a time of desperate "budget cutting",why the use was made of an extremely expensive resource to respond to a report of a disturbance in a restaurant? And if it was assigned because Republican politicians were involved who authorized it?
