Florida court says governor can reject Obama rail money
As President Obama flies Air Force One to Miami, the Florida Supreme Court decided today that the state's Republican governor can indeed reject $2.4 billion from the Obama administration for a high-speed rail line.

The decision kills a planned route between Tampa and Orlando, a project GOP Gov. Rick Scott described as a "boondoggle" that would probably lead to cost overruns his state would have to bear.

Republican governors in Ohio and Wisconsin have rejected federal high speed rail funds on similar grounds.

Obama had cast his high-speed rail plan as a key part of efforts to reduce traffic congestion and U.S. dependence on foreign oil.
