1. The Bill the House Passed (Budget) causes 200,000 job losses
according to Bernanke, and 700,000according to Mark Zandi,
Moodys.

The Private Sector finally giveth and the The Republican
Party taketh away.

3. Then go to the official release
Employment Situation Report Table A-15 shows all alternative measures.
The Jan-Feb changes were
U-1 Persons unemployed 15 weeks or longer, as a percent of the civilian labor force: 5.5 to 5.3
U-2 Job losers and persons who completed temporary jobs, as a percent of the civilian labor force: 5.6 to 5.4
U-3 Total unemployed, as a percent of the civilian labor force (official unemployment rate): 9.0 to 8.9
U-4 Total unemployed plus discouraged workers, as a percent of the civilian labor force plus discouraged workers: 9.6 to 9.5
U-5 Total unemployed, plus discouraged workers, plus all other persons marginally attached to the labor force, as a percent of the civilian labor force plus all persons marginally attached to the labor force: 10.7 to 10.5
U-6 Total unemployed, plus all persons marginally attached to the labor force, plus total employed part time for economic reasons, as a percent of the civilian labor force plus all persons marginally attached to the labor force: 16.1 to 15.9

So, no it's not a totally different story.

5. Point taken...........
by my original intent was (and it was irresponsible of me not to articulate it more clearly) that these numbers are never fully reported. I have never understood why the Labor Dept. has never used the U-6 numbers, as it seems to be the true measure of underutilization? My bad for not being clearer, and thanks for calling me on it.
