1. Obama designed a commission to attack Social Security
His commission recommends that the average recipients lifetime benefits be cut by more than $50,000.

afford two wars and a Trillion Dollar tax cut extension for the wealthy?

6. Oh, but the tax cut for millionaires is perfectly affordable.
because millionaires create jobs by taking frequent vacations, moving factory operations to China, and by off-shoring their profits to avoid paying even those reduced taxes on them.

All this squabbling is beside the point and only encourages complacency. The danger is real, and we need to speak up now.

10. Oddly, your title doesn't seem to reflect the content of the
article. I couldn't find any place in the article when I read the entire thing where President Obama was "responding positively." Perhaps you could point out that part of the article to me. Perhaps I missed it.

13. Right here...it was inconsistent to say the least, but that's Boehner
Mr. Boehner, an Ohio Republican, said he told President Barack Obama that he would take the political plunge alongside him if the president announced his own willingness to tackle changes to those programs.

"I offered to the president we could lock arms and walk out and begin the conversation about the size of the problem," Mr. Boehner said, adding that Mr. Obama responded "positively."

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703752404576178910828355914.html

That's coming from Boehner, but still concerning nonetheless. We need Obama to say, Hell no! Not oh yeahh we'll talk about it (wishy washy)

14. you have a quote from boehner that obama responded "positively" to starting a "conversation".
then the very next sentence says "he also took aim at Mr. Obama for not proposing a plan to overhaul the programs."

so obama not having a plan to cut these programs this must really mean he secretly, secretly goes tanning with orange john and schemes ways to destroy the middle class and the poor. get with the program, man!

;)

11. no where in the article does is say "obama responds favorably" to SS cuts.
you've got an article where boehner is acting like an asshole, and you're using it to go after obama. awesome.

you have a quote from boehner that obama responded "positively" to starting a "conversation". then the very next sentence says "he also took aim at Mr. Obama for not proposing a plan to overhaul the programs."

So boehner criticizing obama for not having a plan to cut SS and medicare means obama wants to cut SS and medicare?

:eyes:

16. So people are now promoting Boehner's fantasy?
The article is a Republican press release. The RW media is trying to play Americans.

The Hill published this bullshit last night: Boehner promises Obama GOP cover on entitlement reform

Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) has privately assured President Obama that House Republicans will not attack him if he makes a proposal to reform entitlement spending, according to sources familiar with the offer.

Moreover, Boehner has personally promised Obama that he will stand side-by-side with him to weather the strong political backlash expected from any proposal to cut entitlement costs.

just as folks here predicted back in January, and then included those in his budget, just as predicted in February.

Oh wait ... neither of those things happened.
