Newly released UFO files from the UK government (Bring pop corn and tin foil)

The Best of the U.K.’s Newly-Opened UFO Files

Is there any better kind of government file than a government UFO file? (No, there is not.) The U.K. just dumped its largest-ever cache of UFO files, and there is some pretty great stuff in there. Such as these letters, wherein a former Ministry of Defense employee writes from Sri Lanka of a "partial aura" and "a ring like a doughnut," providing along with his or her letter two pictures of this unidentified object. And yet, his case handler is less than moved: "Defence of Sri Lankan airspace is clearly a matter for the Sri Lankan Government and you may wish to pursue your enquiries with them." The MoD can be so bitchy! Max Read — Is there any better kind of government file than a government UFO file? (No, there is not.) Files released in March 2011
The files contain a wide range of UFO-related documents, drawings, letters and parliamentary questions covering the years 2000-2005.

Find out more about the House of Lords’ debate on UFOs, a flying saucer hoax that was treated as a potentially real alien invasion of the UK and how 1978 nearly became 'the year of the UFO'.

Start by reading our highlights guide (PDF, 397kb) to help you navigate your way through the files.

Due to the large size of some of these files, we recommend you save them to your PC before opening them. Please right click on the links and select the ‘save’ option.

14. Enough to scare the Santorum out of anyone.
Made a lasting impression on my 10 year old psyche, as well. Particularly the transformation chambers.

13. The show even had glazed doughnut-colored UFOs. Visionary accuracy.

3. I bet the UFO's are
Democrats.

Hopefully they are coming to save us from ourselves, to help us with our environment, to undo the damage to seeds, to facilitate a peaceful existence, to show us medical innovations, to help us find energy and power that will not pollute our planet.

I really doubt they are coming to purchase some companies and tell us that climate change is a lie.

And I hope they round up all the Republican Governers and congressmen and ship them off to Planet Bigot!

:)

4. Battle: Los Angeles
Interesting that these documents were released so close to the release of Battle; Los Angeles. Coincidence, publicity event, or are they they preparing us for ???.

5. I, for one, saw my first UFO about 4 months ago...
It was astonishing. Say what you will, mock as you might, there is some strange shit going down. No one can bully me -- or my super skeptical sweetie who saw it also -- out of the reality of the magnificently huge ship we saw, and the peculiar way it flew as if some sort of anti-gravity process was at work

7. Try some bicarbonate of soda

So sorry to hear of your, um, socially debilitating condition. A major dose of (NaHCO3) will help clear your colon and your mind.

11. Note the ground effects.

Rex Heflin, Santa Ana, California, May, 1965 took a series of incredible Polaroids. Look at the dust on the ground.

12. Was that photo on the cover of LIFE magazine?
Its a very famous photograph. I don't think anyone has ever explained it as yet.

16. Not entirely outside the existing technology of the era.
Put a small, ducted turbine engine inside a gyro-stabilized circular airframe, and let-er-rip. But, why?
