Why did the “Stand Against spending — Stand with Walker” bus tour and rally change locations several times in the hours before its 4:30 p.m. kickoff Thursday?

In between Nino’s and the Seabird, the group approached Luigi’s Italian Restaurant about holding the event there. According to Luigi’s employee Melissa Korth, the restaurant decided not to allow it for space reasons, but by then the new location had already started to go around.

“We hadn’t really given them an answer and we think they assumed they had a reservation,” Korth said. And Luigi’s also received at least one call from an angry diner who promised to never come back if the rally was held there, she said.

Gabrielse said she never would have taken the dinner reservation if she’d known there was a political event attached to it.
