It is exactly what you would expect of Colonel Gaddafi's lair – sumptuous, expensive and utterly tasteless.

And a week after the dictator's guards fled his opulent hilltop palace, the Libyan people have given it their verdict by joyfully trashing the place.

However enough remains of its former splendour to offer a fascinating glimpse inside the summer retreat of the hated despot.

He and OxyRush must use the same interior decorator.

Gotta love that door to the panic room, though. I'll bet Dick Cheney pops wood when he sees that "20-man sized safe". Hopefully, he'll then go into cardiac arrest.

This place reminds me of Rush Limbaugh's apartment. Expensive furnishings chosen for the sake of how much it costs.
