Global Wikileaks Support Rallies

Protests have been going on and are continuing around the globe, including here in the U.S. against the censorship and persecution of Wikileaks and its Editor and Publisher, Julian Assange

Here is a recent list of events for anyone who might want to participate.

Some have already taken place.

Australia's puppet Prime Minister, Gillard needs start doing her job of protecting Australian citizens and ensuring they receive due process when in legal jeopardy abroad, especially from countries not known for their respect for the rule of law. She made a false charge against Wikileaks and needs to retract it, even if those pulling her strings are not happy about it.

As you can see, there will be one tomorrow (I marked it with asterisks) in London outside the courtroom:

As a result of the censorship of Wikileaks, a new Internet Bill of Rights is being prepared in an effort to defend the free flow of information on the Internet. People from all over the world are invited to help write it.

Several new independent New Media outlets, modeled after Wikileaks, are starting up. If Governments thought going after Wikileaks so fiercely would end whistle-blowing, apparently it has done the opposite.

I think a can of worms has been opened by going after Wikileaks with such lack of focus. As predicted all it has done is unite people around the world against those who are attacking the New Media News Organization.

I always hoped people would do that, unite the same way Global, Multi-National Corporations with no allegiance to any country have done, but couldn't see how it could happen. Now I see it happening and it's about time. And it's exciting.

It will be much more difficult to lie a country into war with so many citizens actually keeping on eye on their governments from now on, and people willing to expose the lies. Something the old media is too compromised to do, which led to the two disastrous, never-ending wars we are engaged in.

Had there been a Wikileaks back then, or a real free press, how many people would still be alive today?

government, and many others around the world, are under the control of corporations. From Nigeria to Australia to Europe, to here. Anyone who really cares about this nation is going to want to change that. We the people have lost control of the government.

far worse than the usual Seattle light drizzle.

Thanks for letting us know about yours, I imagine there are a lot more than are listed above as not everyone realizes they can post their events and get help organizing etc.

I'm sure everyone's license plates were recorded! lol, they will be very busy as these protests grow. If they don't let him out of jail, I think things will escalate even more worldwide.

Maybe get some pictures ~ and what is happening with your Prime Minister? Reading some of your newspaper reports it looks like she's getting some flack for her false statement about Wikileaks being illegal. She appears to be a U.S. puppet, but then so do so many others as the leaked docoments are demonstrating. I wonder how the citizens of Australia and elsewhere feel about their governments being so compromised and their elections being influenced by the U.S.
