The way the MSM is ignoring today's rallies is inexcusable. It is a sad day when the media has
magnified its control by the right. We are seeing the last remnants of true democracy in America.

2. And yet, even without them, the word got around and the rallies are successful
The traditional media is becoming the last place to get all the news. Heh...heh...heh.

4. agreed. And these aren't as much for the cameras
as for the troglodytes in the State House.

7. With food ordered from around the world - trogs should have some sleepless nights
The message is definitely out there no matter how much the Kochs spend to muzzle the word.

6. That's why people are turning to alternate ways of finding news
The media has been taken over, except for a very few hours a week on one or two channels for more than a decade.

Twitter, YouTube, texting, cell phone videos, etc. are quickly filling the void. Without them we wouldn't even know what's happening in the Middle East. Nor would we know anything other than what the MSM tells us.

8. Predictable. They ignored 1.2 Million in DC for choice in 1994. Ignored MASSIVE Iraq war protests.
Yet, 10 crazy duffers show up in tricorner hats with teabags and misspelled signs, and start screaming at a congressperson--- and all the major media will be there to cover it like it's a "movement". :eyes:

Funny, huh?

11. exactly
I was stunned at how bad the coverage was for the anti-war protests - I was at some of them and the reportage tried to pretend it was nothing but "old hippies" - which was a total lie. They also underestimated the numbers - I was at a HUGE rally and the NYT claimed there were 10k ppl there - when the shots of the march showed 10x that many ppl.

15. At least one I was at in San Francisco was about 200,000. Here's how they covered it:
They gave 3 minutes to the actual, peaceful, huge protest, 5 minutes to the 100 or so "counter protesters" (equal time, ya know) and then 15 minutes to the 20 or so jerks who broke windows on Market Street.

9. The media ARE the corporations. This is why the struggle for net neutrality matters so much.

PS: However, I've wondered if it might not help to locate our protests on the media's doorsteps.

13. The NY Times had three stories about Wisconsin today...
one of them about the rallies. So what's more mainstream that hasn't covered it?

(It IS Saturday after all, and Oscar week on top of that.)
