***Police are joining the Madison protest rather than kicking the protesters out!
BREAKING: Wisconsin Police Have Joined Protest Inside State Capitol

From inside the Wisconsin State Capitol, RAN ally Ryan Harvey reports:

“Hundreds of cops have just marched into the Wisconsin state capitol building to protest the anti-Union bill, to massive applause. They now join up to 600 people who are inside.”

Ryan reported on his Facebook page earlier today:

“Police have just announced to the crowds inside the occupied State Capitol of Wisconsin: ‘We have been ordered by the legislature to kick you all out at 4:00 today. But we know what’s right from wrong. We will not be kicking anyone out, in fact, we will be sleeping here with you!’ Unreal.”

8. The story is now that everyone will close the building
late Sunday afternoon so they can clean. Does anyone know about this?

This sounds like a compromise on the part of the cops and the demonstrators, which is a good thing. They stood firm, but have agreed to close down for some maintenance. I know the protesters have been keeping the place clean on their own.

The trouble is, Walker does not compromise. I think he may try to find a way to bar the protesters during the week.

16. That's what I heard too
The Wisconsin Capitol building is really beautiful and does need to be maintained. I haven't heard if they'll allow the protesters back in after cleaning though.

Too many on the left look askance on the police culturally.

But remember, this is only the beginning --

Right wing has been pushing us around for decades now --

and they've made a lot of gains!

Ahem -- they own our government now!!

Our courts!!

All government agencies -- !!

24. As far as "temporarily" clearing out the building to clean, it just sounds fishy

I mean gee, it's not like Scott Walker has ever done anything sneaky or underhanded, right?

:sarcasm:

Why don't the protesters do all the "maintenance" that needs doing so there's no reason to leave? I wouldn't put it past Walker to deny reentry in the hopes of enticing the protesters to start trouble.

29. "We will not be kicking anyone out, in fact, we will be sleeping here with you!"
Sounds great.

Let's see what happens.

I thought toadie Walker et al had exempted Law Enforcement and Fire Fighter Unions from at least some of the diminished civil liberty that Walker is attempting to ramrod as the "first domino" in distruction of public employee unions.

I posted a video of the firefighters marching through the Capitol and I swear that just about EVERY police officer was recording the event on their cell phone. They know Walker is going down.
