Unon Thuggery descends on Freedom Works

Basically, it’s ridiculous. I’m a 5’1 female in a dress, and he was standing up on a garden wall above me in the courtyard. He hardly felt threatened. I was stunned, because generally protesters are there to, you know, get their message out. They don’t normally shy away from the camera.

I’m very much okay, and very appreciative of the support from my fellow bloggers and activists today. I am, however, shaken up by the level of sheer hatred I experienced today. The look of fury on his face in the close up is appalling. I had not exchanged a word with him. He didn’t know who I was. He didn’t even know my name, what I do. He had probably surmised that I was with FreedomWorks and that was enough.

This just can’t be tolerated anymore. It’s one thing to be called a violent teabagger. It’s another to be called a violent teabagger while you’re being assaulted. They’ve been comparing themselves to the Egyptians ousting Mubarak. Looks like they’re not too far off, given that they share the tendency to assault women with cameras.

I wonder if our wonderful nooz can connect these dots.

Also we may see a million people in the streets peacefully protesting... the Tea Party has never even gotten close to 100K.. this must be making their masters nervous.

Because the organizers were able to prove the Teabaggers were planning on disrupting the protest

I stayed out by the street directly in between the Peaceful Protest and the TeaBaggers across the street. As much as I didn't want to I had to ask my union Brothers and Sisters not to taunt or ridicule the pathetic gathering of 32 Teabaggers protesting the gathering of more then 2500 Union Supporters.

Believe me - there was no shortage rather large construction workers

He put his hand on a cellphone... Ohhh I'm shaking. Okay, he shouldn't have touched her cellphone, but "thuggery"? Really? If they believe that's union thuggery, they've lead very sheltered lives.

And there's no context. We don't know if there really was intelligent debate or not since the video starts in the middle of the encounter. When I see a highly selective out of context video like this I'm always suspicious. Why not show the encounter from the beginning? Why not show it to the end? Why the slow motion silliness? This kind of editing almost surely indicates it's dishonest. This is edited and produced for minimum information and maximum impact, and even then it doesn't have much of an impact.

They obviously had difficulty finding any real thuggery.

The anti-union folks intend to try to stir up real trouble and, if they can't do that, they'll lie and exaggerate. I hope the union members have received some training and understand that people will be trying to provoke them and that the best course of action, for the sake of the movement, is to ignore those provocations. They also need to be on the lookout for fake supporters.

Pretending to be suddenly running for the smelling salts, are they? Digby had a lot to say about this a few days ago. Speaking of "smell", we know they will lie and manufacture whatever they can, but they're going to have a hard time coming up with any PR that remotely resembles their penchant for spitting on Congressmen and stomping a woman's head. To say nothing of their blatant racism and rashes of death threats.

I like to point at patterns from their actual sites.

I stopped readying FR for a while, for example, but these days... it deserves a scan. I think the cognitive dissonance is starting to hit them... something about being a minority. Not all of them mind you... but a few are starting to get a bad case of it.
