2. You must have seen a completely different program than I.
That was no friendly interview.

5. I saw a very timid and incoherent Stewart who gave Rumsfeld every room to sell his lies...
Not the kind of interview he had with Tony Blair, whom he did ask the tough questions.

6. I'm used at Stewart being the only one who calls them out on their bullshit...
Like he did with Tony Blair, Cramer and Dick Armey, to name a few. This was palling around. It made warcriminal Rumsfeld come off as a kind, sympathetic grandpa.

8. well
Rumsfeld above all those others, is the most dangerous one to have mad at you.

The crook has many friends who have many weapons and many soldiers, right?

Can you blame Stewart for wanting Rumsfeld to be BFF?

15. If he's not going to question him properly, why have him on at all?
To give him a podium to sell his rewriting of history? That makes Stewart an accomplice.

20. Jon's Bosses?
Maybe they were, uh, convinced to let the crook run his speil?

Really, I don't get it. TDS is supposed to be comedy and Rumsfeld is as far from comedy as one can get. Tragic error is more like it.

Have the comedians also sold out? Looks that way, eh?

28. Comedy shows were the last bastion of real journalism in the US...
Sad, but true. Now it's gone. Jon also continually bashes the Wisconsin protesters. Sad.

19. Agreed on that one, but Letterman wasn't all that agreeable with
Rand Paul last night. A couple of times while bad-mouthing government workers and espousing what private industry should do, Paul tried to do a comparison of government talk show hosts vs private ones. As goofy as Letterman can be at times, you could tell this example just made Paul look stupid. Letterman asked why teachers, fireman and other union workers should take all the cuts and rich people not pay more taxes? Rand just continued to berate them, and Letterman said I don't agree with you, and did his end-of-time on my show handshake.

9. Jon did what I thought he'd do. Cursary ribbing, followed by 'reasonable'
disagreement and concilliatory gesture. Jon is a lightweight.

11. It's called "putting a hostile at ease"
Rumsfeld did himself no favors. He proved to be the clueless, arrogant bastard we always knew he was.,

It's perfectly obvious that he will never "pay" for his crimes, and he IS going to be all over the place in our faces, as he hawks his ridiculous book of fairy tales, so Jon openly mocks him, and by letting him think he's not going to be pummeled, Rumsfeld lets his guard down a little and more or less admits what we all knew anyway.. He's a lying sack of shit.

Is it instructive in any way or should we just be satisfied with being complicit in his evasion of justice?
