I just read an article where he criticizes Michelle Obama's weight loss initiative. You'd think he'd approve, given his recent weight loss, but no. He talks about her not looking like a swimsuit model. Who gives a damn about that? There are literally millions of women who look damn fine who aren't that skinny. And, of course, he isn't bright enough to know that the First Lady's initiative is about health, not appearances. Oh, well. I suppose that Rush isn't in favor of any weight loss program that doesn't involve, um, pharmaceuticals. This just goes to show you that Rush Limbaugh may only be a part-time lard ass, but he's a full-time dumb ass.

The difference, is Limbaugh is paid very well to pour the acid on his listeners in turn, and they haven't gotten it.

Make no mistake, when he goes, someone else will take the acid pouring place, until we the people educate enough of those around us against the hate. That is all that stops it from catching fire. We, as a collective, have to stop giving him attention, no matter what outrageous things he says. Only then does he lose power.

Unions provide some sense of power as well as a feeling of belonging.

Seems to me that there are a lot of angry middle-aged white guys out there who are feeling powerless and alienated. They know they're getting screwed just like everyone else, and they're wondering why and whom to blame.

Limpballs provides a voice for their anger and alienation and with it a sense of belonging and power they might've had in a union. More importantly, he offers up a number of scapegoats that distract these angry listeners from the real culprits.

As for union people who are Rush devotees, I'd call that the "What's the Matter with Kansas?" syndrome. Get 'em riled up with hot-button social issues, and while they're distracted, screw them over economically.
