Rare snow leopard cub celebrated in Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) - The Chattanooga Zoo is showing off its rare snow leopard cub and is asking the public for name suggestions.

The female leopard was born Jan. 10 at the zoo, the Chattanooga Times Free Press reported, about a week before the death of a beloved chimpanzee named Hank. The cub will be in the animal exhibit area for the first time on Saturday.

During a media event on Monday, the cub was taken from her enclosure and weighed. She was five pounds and exactly 6 weeks old. The cub is the only survivor of 3 cubs born to the mother leopard in January
