Gov. Dave Heineman says Sarah Palin is absolutely qualified to be the president of the United States.



In a recent interview with Nebraska Watchdog Heineman initially seemed to skirt the direct question asked by Joe Jordan concerning whether the half-term governor of Alaska, who was the Republican candidate for vice president in 2008, was qualified for the nation’s top job.



Asked if Palin was qualified to be president, Heineman said: “If she can win the Republican nomination and win the race for the presidency, absolutely.”



When Jordan followed up, Heineman added: “It’s a free country and if you can convince enough people that you’re the best candidate then, yes, you’re qualified to be the president of the United States.”

So yes, along with millions of others, she "qualifies" to be president under the Constitution. But as far as being suitable for the job? The poor fellow down on the corner shouting at air currents is every bit as suitable as Mrs. Palin. Perhaps moreso.

I do not say this lightly: Palin scares the shit out of me. Hell, she scares the shit out of a lot of republicans as well. And rightly so. She doesn't just pander to the social conservative god wing of the GOP base -- unlike the very people who preach that garbage, she actually BELIEVES it. And more. You can see this when she speaks, the only time she is not spewing unintelligable word salad is when she is discussing her faith. Palin believes that she is the chosen emissary of her god.

That she is also an egomaniacal vindictive arrogant and spiteful bitch goes without saying. You would be too if GOD personally selected you to usher in the apocolypse. You don't need book learnin' when god tells you what to say and guides your hand to the big red button. You just need faith.
