My Neighbor Posed An Interesting Question - Should Obama Learn From Gov Walker Or......
should Gov Walker learn from Obama about compromise?

He said we criticize Obama when he compromises with the Repugs and wish that he wouldn't. Now we are criticizing Gov Walker for not compromising and wish that he would.

I had no comeback for him on this. It really is interesting to ponder.

right time for compromise and when it's time to dig in their heels. FDR did both, but he did it because the people pushed him too. Neither Walker nor Obama seem to pay much attention to what the people want.

There is a time for compromise and a time to stick to your values. Do you value the middle class or don't you, Mr. President?

3. The only thing he could learn from Walker is how to be an overbearing, vindictive prick.
And thats just nor do I ever think it will be the kind of person President Obama is.

But yea, people only like compromise when it comes from those they oppose. Thats what happens when you allow your ideology to become a sort of religion.

5. Obama's compromises screw the poor. Walkers intransigence also screws the poor.
It's not a matter of whether compromise is a good or bad thing. What matters is WHAT you're willing or unwilling to compromise about.

7. LOL.
The GOP said single payer is a non starter

Obama asked for a public option , the GOP said it's a non starter

Obama then asked for Medicare to be expanded , the GOP said it's a non starter

Obama then asked to give the American people the same choices the members of congress get , the GOP said it's a non starter.

And your friend thinks Obama needs to learn about compromise ?

8. #1. I don't want Walker to compromise. I want him to cease/desist. He manufactured the fake crisis
and gave handouts to his rich backers all the while. If Walker had any integrity he'd sdo the right thing and raise taxes.

2. Walker isn't compromising because he's doing what his corporate sponsors tell him to do.

10. False equaivalence
To what end is the compromise made? And how does the compromise treat the opposite number?

The president has treated the opposition respectfully even in the face of them openly saying their aim is to cause his administration to fail, and to be saddled with the blame for many problems caused by the policies the Republicans are pushing.

11. Obama and the Democrats had no opposition - no need to compromise
The 'opposition' had to be created in the form of the M$M Tea Party

Walker has real opposition - the workers in his state

No comparison here
