4. I don't understand how ANY of the DU membership can fail to be motivated right now.

I know DU has changed a lot over the years, but I just don't see how anybody on this board can fail to be moved by what is happening right now. We can all spit and spat about what primary candidates are "best" or most representative of the the title "progressive" but the fundamental belief system here is supposed to be pretty much the same.

I'll admit to a level of fatigue on a personal level in recent months, but I just can't sit quietly when I see the unions standing tall to protect ALL workers' rights (and make no mistake--Wisconsin in only the first go-round--this is long term warfare akin to a land war in Asia, I believe...) and when I see the US House pass a bill that strips funding for women's health care because Planned Parenthood also provides abortion services.

This shit ain't right and we all know it. If we DON'T all know it then it is all our jobs to TEACH it.

8. It isn't always motivation that stops us from donating

I have been unemployed for about 2.5 years, am uninsured now, and had a heart attack on Christmas day. I have no cash to spare. Any cash I do have will goes to mortgage and food, and anything left over goes to the hospital bill, which is about $20,000.
