Does the DLC ever do shit?
Is there any sort of statement regarding what is going on in Wisconsin from the DLC? I would be interested in what the "future" :eyes: of the "Democratic" party thinks about the destruction of working America.

Does the DLC ever issue a press release regarding the goings on in the world? Or are they Kaine DNC quiet? I mean, we really have to compete with the (slave) workers of the third world after all..

2. The DLC has closed its doors.
The slack will be picked up by its think tank, the PPI. They have done a lot of sh*t including decoupling of the Democratic Party leadership from unions.

5. While Rogers's quote is witty and famous, I'm not sure it's a useful one.
It's useful if you are talking in concepts of a democratic process but not useful in a fight for your rights and lives. At that point, you have to stand for something and be organized.

12. The DLC is in it's lame phase right now as evidenced by Wisconsin
The DLC must be as puzzled as the Republicans and the gov of Wisconsin about what the heck's going on with the people all of a sudden. They need to take a three day weekend to try to figure out what the fuck they're supposed to do now. It never occurred to them that people might rise up. Never.

15. DLC corporate wing destroyed the Dem Party - and left behind quite a few ...
DLC'ers -- including Hillary who is part of DLC leadership --

The DLC destruction of the party still stands --

and what of the "New Dem" image set by President Obama?

Still corporate -- all the time!

17. New Dem think tankers (PPI)
http://www.progressivefix.com

Do a search on unions, teacher issues etc to see the kind of OP Ed stuff they're writing, linking or flakking. A lot of it will unfortunately sound very familiar.

19. Thanks for the info --
but really don't have the stomach for reading it --

What we have to realize is that all of this stuff has been defeated before by the left --

Milton Friedman and right wing have simply taken it off the shelf again as tho never

addressed before -- from TORTURE to UNIONS!!

This was all settled stuff -- they've simply taken stale beer and reshaken it!!

16. Not gone, just rebranded themselves and got website facelift. PPI is still the Will Marshall show.

He founded DLC in 1985. Don't know what they'll be saying about Wisconsin, but they had plenty to say at the recent Deficit Commission hearings. He and his cohorts have not gone away and aren't about to.
And the best living legacy and present reminder of that is Austan Goolsbee.

21. The DLC's relevance end quite some time ago
Unfortunately, its relevance long outlived its usefulness.

Are they still calling those in their ranks who supported that Bush League in Iraq "Blair Democrats"?

22. Isn't that all they ever do?
Shit? It's the free market branch of the Democratic party. They are probably silently cheering Walker and trying to figure out how they can turn this to their advantage.

23. Of course
They're A-holes, but it was a tactical move for them. They decided that the usual role of the Democratic party as representatives of the working class was no longer viable, from a purely funding/elect-ability perspective. It's just business to them.

Where they made their mistake is they somehow figured they could exist in a vacuum, and that the working class would just sorta' go away.
