1. That wasn't his first unchallenged lie, but it may be his biggest.
I wonder if the idiots hosting the show (whatever that show might be) actually believe him.

With an average of $46,390, it's highly likely that there is not a single teacher (without administrative assignments) making $100,000 annually.

18. Thank you.
I saw the writing on the monitor when I last worked at a newspaper in the early 90s. The News Editor job opened up and a ton of in-house people applied. Later I wondered why the youngest of the lot got the gig.

A few weeks later, as story after story slugged "TET" appeared on her AP news feed she exclaimed: "Tet! Tet! What is this Tet?!" I explained to her that they referred to the Tet Offensive, a seminal event in the U.S.-Vietnam War.

She had never heard of it. So, in the mind of the PTB at the paper, she was perfect. Unfortunate for democracy, great for the idiot NAZI Pat Buchanan.

21. My story about Pat Buchanan
When Buchanan was a Nixon aide in 1971 and '72 Pat came out to the Bethesda Naval Hospital
and saw the doctor in the clinic where i worked. I remeeber seeing him twice visiting
the doctor and later, the doctor who replaced the first.

He didn't receive any treatment that i know of but he did receive free consultations fer which I believe he wasn't entitled.

Buchanan "corrected" his statement by saying his $100k number was salary + benefits. But he said the salary part was $60,000. So it sounds like he's still wrong.

39. Yeah, he still had to try to get to his 100k figure
He said the teachers pay was $60k and benefits are $40k. That doesn't square with what was posted here at DU with a link to the verification. Average pay is more like $44k.

Buchanan probably used a high end pay for his $60k. So he's still lying.

26. Keep in mind, Buchanan has gotten CIA money over his career to keep
him propped up --

Everything the right wing does and has is FAKED!!

CIA also funded right wing members of Congress --

two I'm aware of are Sen. Strom Thurmond and

Rep. Gerald Ford --

GOP gave start up funding for the Christian Coalition --

GOP used NRA to target liberals and moderates in both parties --

GOP used "pro-life" murderers to pave the way for attacks on abortion --

evidently "pro-life" organizations were hiring people at methadone clinics to act

as protesters for them.

Edited on Sat Feb-19-11 12:25 PM by defendandprotect
Meanwhile the CIA was founded with NAZIS post-WWII coming in under

Operation Paper Clip set up by Allen Dulles -- you remember him, I'm sure!

CIA also raised money from many right wing sources, including the KKK and Nazis.

Some of this info began to come out with the death of Wm. Buckley -- also CIA.

Also GE -- more right wing than the Nazi Party -- which kept Buchanan on TV -

"Crossfire" -- to spread his sexist, racist and homophobic propaganda --

32. Buchanan was close with Thomas Braden
Braden started CNN's Crossfire program which starred Pat Buchanan. Their association is undeniable.

Braden was involved in the CIA's Operation Mockingbird which involves the media.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Mockingbird

From the article:
"Thomas Braden, head of the International Organizations Division (IOD), played an important role in Operation Mockingbird. Many years later he revealed his role in these events:

"If the director of CIA wanted to extend a present, say, to someone in Europe—a Labour leader—suppose he just thought, This man can use fifty thousand dollars, he's working well and doing a good job - he could hand it to him and never have to account to anybody... There was simply no limit to the money it could spend and no limit to the people it could hire and no limit to the activities it could decide were necessary to conduct the war—the secret war.... It was a multinational. Maybe it was one of the first. Journalists were a target, labor unions a particular target—that was one of the activities in which the communists spent the most money."<12> "

More about Braden --> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Braden

It's not out of the question to believe that Buchanan was associated with Operation Mockingbird.

should be stripped from the title 'news' and forced to rename themselves 'entertainment' only. It should be a law! If cannot report the news accurately, then you lose your journalistic license! Which means you cannot 'report the news' anymore.
