Robert Israel: Vita Plus should not be hosting Walker’s budget address Tuesday
Dear Editor: I am disappointed to read that Vita Plus -- and not the people of Wisconsin -- will host Gov. Scott Walker’s budget address next Tuesday. This runs counter to the spirit, if not the letter, of our state constitution and will embroil the company in a divisive and contentious situation not of its own making, and in such a way that will sully its hard-earned reputation.

As a citizen of Wisconsin I am outraged at Walker’s high-handed and wrong-headed antics. Were I a Vita Plus stockholder or employee I would be further alarmed to see my company dragged into the fray, subject to citizens’ anger, and the locus for vocal protests that could even result in Walker’s threatened use of the State Police or National Guard on its premises.

Walker has shown such contempt for fair play and the public interest that to be identified with him cannot be good for business.

Robert Israel
