Jesus, what a horrible dream...
I awakened at 3:38 - God Bless digital clocks - sweating and really upset: generally I don't recall my dreams, but this one was horrendous. There I am, suck in this room with 3 guys with laptops, all hip-looking but Republican nonetheless, and I sit down and beg them to PLEASE JUST LISTEN to me for five minutes. I plead some liberal case - I can't recall the details, but it was one of those cogent-in-a-dream speeches - and the lead Republican, a guy with a beard and mustache, begins to spew the RW talking points along with the other guy to his left. The third guy says nothing but is smiling the entire time. the talking points have nothing to do with the argument I've made, but onward they go. I'm screaming at the guys to just stop for a minute and listen to me: I talk about human nature, the greater good, advancements in civilization including the sun-centered solar system, the discovery of the complexity of cellular biology, quantum physics, and that the world and the Universe is more difficult to understand than three-word fragments. They just laugh at me - I say that they don't have to fake it for me, that I understand what they're doing, but they're talking to ME...just ME, we're not on TV or the Internet, and the lead guy calmly says to me, and this is what woke me up, "You don't matter and what you think doesn't matter, and it never did and it never will."

Time to go to work now...vaguely depressed and agitated. This hasn't happened in years...

1. That is a concept of some things.
There is a few doctrines that say people do not matter at all. A few doctrines like that.

Those are the side that hate people. Although if you find anything that shows caring then it can be shown there are some that think people do matter. And if there is any that think people matter, and change is possible, then all can eventually think people matter in some possible outcome.

(side note, elements of people not mattering make it into every religion, there are parts of those doctrines in many texts, that does not make the entire concept of the teaching invalid, only that there are bias and some good and some bad in all texts)

There is a view that people do not matter, and it is even in some doctrines.

Here is the thing, some people think that way also, so it is my belief people are told that to also think that, and the effect of that action is not one that would be consistent with people not mattering.

There are two sets of doctrines, despair, and caring. I know some pretty terrible despair doctrines I had to get past, and don't post them, but know there are things that want me to be in despair. If they wanted that, then I do matter.

The argument that people don't matter is a means to an end of creating burn out feelings so that they can think other people don't matter.

That is about breaking people.

Side note, I am due beer and travel money, and either filters between me and other people don't let some see that, or the people that do see that, think I don't matter. Although that wont get me to think some other person does not matter.

2. Bummer. I'd interpret that as your sub-conscious telling you that talking to Republicans
is a waste of time.

Your sub-conscious is really smart!
