Man who fell off vehicle was holding down mattresses on roof
May we suggest bungee cords next time?
Police: Man who fell off vehicle was holding down mattresses on roof

A man who suffered a head injury after falling off a moving vehicle had been attempting to hold down mattresses that were on the roof of the vehicle, Burlington police said.

Police said Timothy Lee Walker, 48, struck his head and was lying in the street when officers arrived at the scene at North Ireland Street and Virginia Avenue on Tuesday.

Walker fell from the vehicle when the driver of the 1996 Ford Explorer, Stella Thomas, 42, rounded a curve, causing the mattresses to slide off the roof, police said.

16. Now is exactly the time, because it highlights -- for others who might be tempted . . .
to emulate Mr. Walker -- that actions have consequences.

Meanwhile, some people are a danger to be around because their foolishness and lack of concern for others creates hazards for the whole community. And all jokes aside, I think we have a right to express the hope that such people haven't passed such tendencies along to another generation.

4. I would vote No
He could survive, but crush his testicles leading doctors to remove them surgically, and I think he would still qualify.

13. Yeah, as long as you are killed or unable to procreate.
Not sure how it qualifies if you have kids and then die.

6. Speaking from experience - bungee cords don't work either.
Twine is the only way to go.

Fortunately nobody was hurt, but we slept on the floor for a few weeks after that.

14. It's really remarkable...
... how often the traffic reports mention a mattress on the roadway. You'd think that half the area's population is trying to haul a mattress on any given day.
