SC: Pensioner mauled to death by Rottweilers who then turned on and attacked their owner
A pair of Rottweilers mauled a pensioner to death before attacking their owner, police revealed today.

Sirlinda Jayne Hayes, 66, was waiting for a friend outside her one-story home in Dillon County, South Carolina and tending to her turnips and collard greens when the dogs attacked her for no apparent reason.

When their owner tried to help they also turned on him. He is still in the hospital recovering from the injuries suffered in the horrific attack.

Dillon County deputies have said the dogs were running loose when they attacked her but it will be several days before they figure out exactly what caused them to maul the woman before turning on their owner.

And why is this story of any relevance here?

2. We've discussed dog maulings here in the past
Usually though it's pit bulls. And it was a UK paper who called her a pensioner. They had the best report.

3. "Pensioner" is British speak for "retired person".
My favorite tab is The Daily Mail online.

They have different words for things in the United Kingdom. And they spell differently.
