A "Quiet Debate" on Social Security and Medicare? HELL NO!
Social Security and Medicare "reform" talks are underway behind closed doors and we need to start causing a huge stink.

So far, Reid, Schumer and Becerra in the House have pushed back. We need to encourage our Members of Congress (if they are Dems) to push back mightily against any plans that cut benefits (price indexing, means testing, changing the CPI to chained index, raising the retirement age).

President Obama's new press secretary said these talks are best held as "quiet debates"....what, so we can get screwed without anyone noticing? I for one am going to continue to cause a huge stink about this and I encourage everyone else who doesn't want to see these programs unecessarily cut or "trimmed" to do the same.

1. It bothers me a great deal
That democrats are not calling the republicans out on the fact that social security has nothing to do with the deficit. Should we consider this a sort of IQ test for democrats who don't do it, or, can we take it as an indicator of their dishonesty?

6. I remember when Obama spoke of transparency
Now they speak of the need for secrecy. Disgusting. Really disgusting.
