Wisconsin Gov. Walker Ginned Up Budget Shortfall To Undercut Worker Rights
Furthermore, this broadside comes less than a month after the state's fiscal bureau -- the Wisconsin equivalent of the Congressional Budget Office -- concluded that Wisconsin isn't even in need of austerity measures, and could conclude the fiscal year with a surplus. In fact, they say that the current budget shortfall is a direct result of tax cut policies Walker enacted in his first days in office.

"Walker was not forced into a budget repair bill by circumstances beyond he control," says Jack Norman, research director at the Institute for Wisconsin Future -- a public interest think tank. "He wanted a budget repair bill and forced it by pushing through tax cuts... so he could rush through these other changes."

1. This was affirmed on both Rachel Maddow and Big ED Shows.

3. It was also printed in several newspapers today. Sorry I don't
recall which ones, but I heard it on Thom Hartmann's program and two other radio programs as well. I LOVE IT! There's rumblings abour recalling the dear Gov. and this tidbit will encourage that. I hope the citizens of Wisc. do recall the bt'd. Maybe THAT will at least slow down the other raving maniacs who were just elected and think they've got the world by the tail.

4. I think one was the Wisconsin State Journal, but I could be wrong
As I remember they are expected to run a surplus this year.

6. I would have been a surplus if the new Gov. hadn't pushed through
ax breaks for his buddies in the first few days that equal the amount of the deficit!

5. If this is true he should be impeached
There was a surplus he gave away and then tried to screw over the working class to boot.

7. The people of Wisc. are already talking abot that, but by law, he can't be
impeached until he's been in office for 0ne year. Of course, as Norm Goldman said last night, there's nothing that says the planning for impeachments can't begin NOW!

8. I fear that the WI congress is stacked against impeachment - perhaps recall is better
Let the voters decide - I hope it happens!

9. I also heard today that although the Gov. can't be recalled for one year,
there are a number of people in the General assembly that have already reached their required terms of service & can be recalled NOW! I hope this stays on the front burner of Wisc people!
