Police: Mom Kept Pills In Reach Of Kids
OxyContin, Xanax, Found In Home With Infant

PALM BAY, Fla. -- A 28-year-old woman is in jail after Palm Bay police said they found numerous prescription pills and other drugs within reach of her children during a response to a 911 call to her home.

Police charged Rebecca Dove with child neglect and contributing to the delinquency of a minor after investigating reports of an incoherent call to 911 from her home on Aspen Road in southeast Palm Bay, Local 6 News partner Florida Today reported.

She was arrested Wednesday and taken to the Brevard County Detention Center in Sharpes.

Patrol officers arrived at the home about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday and found Dove, who admitted to taking a combination of several different pills, including OxyContin, Xanax and other prescription medications.
