In Egypt there was more of a focus on one or two things/people. Remove the person in charge and you can get a fresh start.
The US we have a wider range: Obama? The most he can serve is two terms. He does not make the laws. Congress? Too many people, which ones are we going to protest? Corporations? Which ones - Monsanto, JP Morgan, BofA, Comcast, etc - and what would protests against them do anyway?
We know, or thought we did, that we could have elections that would remove those we don't like - but it seems they are often replaced with someone just like them but with a different name.
What is the UNIFYING thing which we could rally behind and WHO could we pressure the most to initiate the changes we want?
I could take to the streets all day long, but who would I want to be rallying against and what would the removal of that person change?
Problem here is that the 'beast', as in Revelation, has more than one head.
And the body that holds them all together? Now that is a target we can attack.
Profit and greed - I can understand wanting to have more profit, but when it comes at the expense of the people here? No.
We are not fighting a person, but a system. One that values, and it can be seen in our education system all too well now, having more for yourself at the expense of others.
Removal by the few of a standard of living of us all, taking away the idea that we are all here together and should work together and help one another. NOT saying those who do more should not gain more, but that there are limits.
While we are individuals, with our own goals, we are also a group - one which is very diverse.
As Jesus once said:
40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’
44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’
45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’
