This is a prime example of what is wrong with this country

~snip~

Ron Zook entered the 2010 season seated squarely on one of the hottest coaching seats in the country. He came out of it with a slightly cooler backside, thanks to a 7-6 record and a bowl win.

~snip~

In six seasons with the Illini, Zook has compiled a 28-45 record, including a 14-28 mark in the Big Ten. Last season was just the second year he’s won more than five games with the Illini.

Zook wasn’t the only one to benefit from the “turnaround” season in 2010, either, as a handful of his assistants received a bump in pay as well.

~snip~

All told, Illinois will pay $420,000 more to their football coaches in 2011 than they did in 2010.

The coach has a losing record and two good years and the college feels he needs a raise.
Priorities are so out of wack in this country

2. I never understood why college football became so big
and college baseball never really took off. I love watching College baseball and following people from college all the way to the majors. I respect the players who make it to the MLB far more then the football players who get drafted and right away they are in the NFL.

4. Yeah, in most football conferences, about half of the teams have losing records.
Why do conferences keep these losers around? They should only keep teams with winning conference records. I say get rid of the losers, don't wait around for them to compile 7-6 records.

Isn't that the problem? ;-)
