7. The "sane" Republicans have done NOTHING to discourage it

or clamp down on it or anything. As last November proved, having all of this free-floating paranoia, xenophobia, and anger has been very good for them electorally. Now that they're in charge of something again and have to *lead*, they're realizing that what they've encouraged (or at least failed to DIS-courage) may not be so great for them (or the country).

10. I don't honestly believe that most of them believe in "birtherism"

and, though highly ideological, aren't "crazies" like a lot of the teabaggers but they are more than willing to profit electorally off the crazies. I hope they get trapped in their own webs at some point- the sooner it happens, the sooner our country can really recover.
